The SmallHD 500 series, the sleekest and lightest 5-inch field monitors on the market, are the perfect complement to a Nauticam underwater video system. These products combine a stunning 5 inch, 1920 x 1080 Full HD display with an amazing array of image monitoring software tools in a compact form factor. The monitor feels instantly familiar, almost identical to the size of your favourite smartphone. A rubberised joystick lets you scroll effortlessly through the video pages. Each page offers space for several imaginary analysis tools that can be configured by the user to suit their individual needs. The NA-502's housing provides access to all of the monitor's controls, and the complete menu system is available in the housing and in depth.
The NA-502S underwater housing by Nauticam
There are not enough good things to say about this screen... The pixel density (the specification that leads to sharpness) is higher than the iPhone 6. The monitor is capable of displaying 85% of the NTSC colour space, exceeding REC 709. These specs simply mean the best colours, contrast and resolution available in this class.
The housing of the Nauticam NA-502 is characterised by the robust construction and advanced manufacturing know-how that our users have come to expect. The joystick navigation system used by the 500 series monitors has been transferred to four directional arrows, a centre selection button and the dedicated back button. The interface is simple but elegant and perfectly suited to the underwater environment.
The form factor of the 501/502 monitors is perfect for underwater use, with the HDMI/HD-SDI cables embedded between two readily available Canon LP-E6 batteries.
HDMI and HD-SDI (502) are both supported by a single housing, enabling an extremely wide range of camera support in a single underwater monitor system.
Focus assist
Highlights the sharp edges to make focusing easier.
Wrong colour
First useful for assessing the exposure: The pixel brightness is assigned to a colour pattern in order to identify overexposed and underexposed areas.
Pixel zoom
By simply clicking the up arrow of the joystick on any video page, zooming in to check the sharpness has never been easier!
Right-angled cable connection
Enables clean cable routing and protects the cable from wear and tear at the housing connection.
Joystick navigation push buttons
The joystick navigation system of the 500 series has been transferred to a directional pad on the walking front. The improved distances make it easier to operate, even when wearing cold water gloves.
Carefree thanks to vacuum
A vacuum valve is part of the standard equipment together with the Nauticam vacuum test and leak detection system. This temperature-compensated monitoring circuit with LED display provides a constant feedback message about the watertight condition of the housing. Green means you can dive safely!
