The NA-XT2 takes the best of the previous mirror reflex and mirrorless high-end Nauticam housings and at the same time incorporates the manual aperture control required for this particular camera.
The housing is small, but not at the expense of functionality or ergonomics. Integrated handles provide a stable and comfortable base for operating the system. An ergonomic extension lever and well-positioned control dials provide excellent tactile feedback. Important push buttons are within easy reach of the handles. The camera controls have sufficient distance to allow easy operation, even when wearing gloves.
A new accessory battery pack has been launched together with the NA-XT2! This larger capacity battery significantly extends the time between battery changes and allows the housing to remain closed between dives. The battery pack slides conveniently into the underwater housing below the camera mounting plate.
The Fujinon XF10-24mm F4 R OIS wide-angle zoom lens and the Zeiss Touit 2.8/50M macro lens are supported. With Fuji's high-end lenses (called the "XF"line) and the Zeiss 50mm macro, the aperture is not controlled electronically by the camera, but by a lens ring. This old-school approach will resonate with anyone who has worked with older Nikon SLR cameras before the days of electronic aperture, for example. Use the Nauticam aperture ring (NA36422) for the Zeiss 50mm macro and (NA36421) the aperture, (NA36441) the zoom ring for the 10-24mm.
The secure, individually rotatable housing lock opens the housing base. The camera is easy to insert. The O-ring of the back-mounted housing facilitates maintenance. Two fibre optic sync ports are standard and take advantage of the EF-X8 flash supplied with the camera for flash triggering. To make the most of the excellent X-T2 electronic viewfinder (EVF), Nauticam enables the popular 45° and 180° magnification viewfinders to be installed, providing optimum compositional clarity and focusability.
Flash connector for fibre optic cable TTL
With the NA-XT2 and a variety of optically triggered flashes, reliable automatic flash exposure is possible. The Inon Z-240, D-2000, S-2000 and Sea&Sea YS-D1/YS-D2 flashes provide automated lighting and accurately reproduce the camera's supplied EF-X8 flash with proportionally higher intensity.
This system delivers accurate automatic TTL flash output - even in manual exposure mode - without electrical sync cables!
The NA-XT2 is also compatible with the Nauticam Mini Flash Unit for Panasonic/Fujifilm (NA26305). The flash unit enables fast manual flash triggering via fibre optics without draining the camera's battery.
The NA-XT2 is supplied with a fibre optic connector and accepts standard sea style connectors. Nauticam Universal Fibre Optic Cable System (#26216) for Inon, Sea&Sea flashes, provides exceptional light transmission for precise TTL performance.
View Finder options
A clear view for fine focus and composition is crucial for successful underwater photography, and nothing beats an enlarging viewfinder.
These viewfinders utilise distance vision, not close-up vision, and provide a large, clear view of the high-resolution, 2.36 million dot OLED EVF on the X-T2. Both viewfinders are available in 45º (NA32205) and straight (NA32204) formats and feature external dioptre adjustment for perfect correction of the photographer's vision.
Integrated vacuum test and leak detection system
The vacuum testing and leak detection system from Nauticam is available as standard with the NA-XT2. In combination with an optional vacuum valve (NA25624), this monitoring system constantly informs the user about the watertight and safe diving condition of the housing. A simple, coded LED lighting system shows the user whether the vacuum is stable or whether the housing is losing vacuum. Leakage detection is integrated in the same circuit so that an audible and visual indication is given in the event of water ingress.
