A professional housing fit for a flagship camera, the NA-A9 underwater housing provides access to all major camera controls in a rugged and reliable aluminium underwater housing.
Crucial camera parameter changes are made from the handles, without cumbersome reaches.
Based on our successful NA-A7 and NA-A7RII housings, this latest housing for Sony's flagship Alpha camera is certainly an indispensable and reliable tool for the professional and ambitious underwater photographer to take full advantage of the A9's feature set.
UPDATING A WIDE RANGE OF OPTICS
With the same lens mount accessory as the Nauticam NA-A7II body, a list of thirteen Sony FE lenses are currently supported. An adapter enables the use of the entire N120 DSLR lens range and supports the popular Canon EF lenses attached to the A9 with an EF to Sony E-mount lens adapter. Also available is an adapter for attaching the UW Nikkor series lenses, which were originally used for Nikon's underwater rangefinder systems. From ultra-wide fisheye lenses to long macro lenses, the Nauticam A9 system covers all focal lengths.
MODERN WATER CONTAKTOPTICS
Inspired by the water contact lens designs of the past decades, Nauticam is constantly developing new optical accessories that raise the bar of what is possible in underwater photography. Developed with advanced lens design software and fully optimised for use in water, these lenses offer significantly better performance than an in-air lens behind a dome or flat port alone.
SUCHER
The standard optical glass viewfinder is very good and travel friendly, but many photographers prefer the convenience of an enlarged viewfinder with adjustable dioptres. Nauticam produces a "straight" 180º enlarging viewfinder and a 45º angled enlarging viewfinder to make it easier to work in tight spaces, often associated with macro photography. Both viewfinders feature high-quality optics and allow bright viewing of the entire image. A patented external dioptre adjustment enables personalised, razor-sharp adjustment under water. Viewfinder changes can be carried out in less than 30 seconds without tools. Exceptional composition and focus accuracy have never been so accessible.
FLASH OUTLETS
An optional LED flash trigger (NA26302) enables fast flash triggering with optical slave flashes via fibre optic cable. The NA-A9 housing has two built-in M10 optical sockets that are compatible with the optional LED flash output. Flash systems that use electrical sync cables are connected to a Nikonos connector and hot shoe (NA25056).
INTEGRATED VACUUM PRÜF AND LEAK DETECTION SYSTEM
The Nauticam vacuum pressure and leak detection system is available as standard with NA-A9. In combination with an optional vacuum valve, this monitoring system provides continuous updates on the watertight and submersible condition of the housing. The operator can recognise the watertight and submersible condition of the housing at a glance. A simple, coded LED lighting system shows the user whether the vacuum is stable or whether the housing is losing vacuum. Leakage detection is integrated into the same circuit so that an audible and visual indication is given in the event of water ingress.
The Nauticam system is temperature-compensated and eliminates false alarms caused by a change in external temperature or by the heating of a camera during an action-packed dive.
