The Canon Powershot G7X Mark II stands out from the crowd of modern compact cameras with its image quality, fast autofocus, excellent manual white balance and useful macro mode. These impressive features, paired with the most ergonomic, robust and user-friendly underwater housing on the market, form a perfect combination for underwater photography.
The Canon Powershot G7X Mark II compact camera
The G7X Mark II from Canon is the latest "Powershot"compact camera with a large sensor and the popular 1? sensor size. This 20 megapixel BSI CMOS (Back Side Illuminated) sensor is combined with a first-class, fast 24-100 mm zoom lens. With a maximum aperture of f/1.8 at 24 mm and f/2.8 at 100 mm, this lens is extremely fast for a compact camera. A new processor ensures performance improvements in all areas, especially in the speed of RAW continuous shooting (massive increase from 1 to 8 frames per second). Numerous improvements to the layout of the controls, the shape of the body and the user interface have taken an already very good compact camera to the next level.

The Nauticam underwater housing for the Canon G7X Mark II
The NA-G7XMKII is the latest in a series of advanced housings for high performance compact cameras supported by Nauticam. Many functions familiar from professional DSLR systems have been integrated into this system. The result is an underwater housing that allows the user to realise the full potential of this advanced compact camera in the water.
The basic features and ergonomic improvements that Nauticam users have come to know and love have been incorporated into the NA-G7XMKII. The housing is machined from a solid block of aluminium and then hard anodised to seal it against corrosive salt water. It is closed with a simple but secure screw cap. The right side of the housing is shaped to fit comfortably in the hand, and Nauticam's two-stage release lever allows clear differentiation between half and full pressure on the release. All functions are clearly labelled.
The Nauticam leak alarm and vacuum monitoring system is part of the standard equipment. In combination with the M14 vacuum valve (#25624) available as an accessory, the watertightness of the system can be tested before entering the water and monitored on every dive.
Expert product design, advanced manufacturing techniques, high-quality materials backed by a two-year warranty and a crucial focus on the user experience combine to create the world-class system for the Canon Powershot G7X Mark II. The Nauticam NA-G7XMKII.
The new N50 port system
Due to the specific camera and lens function of the Canon G7 X II, a special port system is required to fully utilise the potential of wide-angle accessory lenses underwater.
The NA-G7XII "Standard"-Port included with the housing enables full zoom and has a 67 mm threaded front to accommodate accessory macro lenses. This port is ideal for medium-sized fish portraits, close-ups and macros with additional wet lenses.
Vacuum test and leak detection system
The Nauticam vacuum pressure and leak detection system is available as standard with NA-G7XII. In combination with an optional vacuum valve, this monitoring system provides constant updates on the watertight and submersible condition of the housing. The operator can recognise the watertight and submersible condition of the housing at a glance. A simple, coded LED lighting system shows the user whether the vacuum is stable or whether the housing is losing vacuum. Leakage detection is integrated in the same circuit so that an audible and visual indication is given in the event of water ingress.
The Nauticam system is temperature-compensated and eliminates false alarms caused by a change in external temperature or the heating of a camera during an action-packed dive.
